About Me...
But... how can Ya really get to know me without a soundtrack of some sorts
playing in the background??  I couldn't fathom it!!!
So first click this

I was born a poor black dirt farmer in the hot, sweet pines of northern Texas.  One early morning as I was walking through
the low, thick ground fog of a Texas spring I came upon the Little People.  A magical people not seen by all, but they're
there all right.  Watching, waiting...always.  Just beneath the vision of normality...  they're there.  Look right dead at them and
you will not see them.  They're best viewed out of the corner of your eye, for those of us who can see them that is.
Seeing how I caught the Little People by suprise this early fog shrouded morning, they granted me a "do-over".  Yeah, a
"do-over".  But it had to be used there and then.  Looking across them dry, dusty dirt fields of that early Texas spring, wondering
how I was going feed my hungry mouth, I uttered the words "do-over".............
The next thing I know I'm being held upside down by the feet gettin' a naked whooping' by some doctor.  It was October
1961.  President Kennedy was contemplating turning Cuba into a parking lot, Bob  was singing about a hard rain and the Little
People were nowhere to be found.  I've been looking for them ever since.
Today I'm a single father of two riding the rails of this great country of America I call home and wondering where all the time
has gone.   Seems like it was just yesterday that I was being grounded for stealing the family car for a joy ride at the age of thirteen.
(I swear to God Dad I only did it that one time...hehehe)  Man, if the Little People were around then... I wouldn't be here right
now.  lol  Can you say "do-over"?  lol
I'd have to say that my two children, Alexandra (aka. Bubba) and Billy Joe (aka. Pete, Roger, Ralph, George) are the crowning achievements of my life.  Denise  and I did produce some ausom kids.  Alex is so bright as well as humble that at times it
really scares me.  She going to be something great one day soon.  Billy has the kindest heart I have ever known.  There's nothing
he would not do for you.  How many kids today are willing to help out and enjoy being a help?  This is when he's happiest.

I come from a family of six.  Two girls, Kim and Nancy, and two boys, Johnny and myself.  Kim's the oldest followed by
Nancy, then me and finally Johnny.  (I by the way, was the best of the bunch.  Uh huh.  Sho-yo-right.  Just ask my mom...lol)
My father Bill, is a retired carpenter who passed on most of what he knows about wood to me.  He would take me out with him
on the weekends to help with side jobs.  This was when I was a teenager mind you.  I wasn't thrilled, at all.  All I wanted to do was
go out with the boys and play.  However I reluctantly went.  It's not like I really had a choice.  lol  But the older I became the
more I appreciate the knowledge  I somehow retained.  I really enjoy working with wood.  There's not much I can't do with it.
Be it a birdhouse, a porch, whatever.  I guess there's sawdust in my veins after all.
My mom, Mary Ann, she's Martha Stuart revisited.  Her tastes are impeccable.  No matter what it is she's doing, it will look
damm good.  I'm like her in allot of ways.  I'm into everything and I want to do everything perfect.  I still haven't figured out if
this is a curse or a blessing.  lol  What really amazes me is the fact that she can still think and talk rationally let alone do all this
hobby stuff after what my brother and I put her through while we were growing up.  lol  Those stories will be under the "Johnny
& I" link.  lol  There's a few.

I moved out of the house in the summer 1983 and in with my soon to be wife Denise.   We were married in November of
that year.  I also began working for Amtrak that August.  Three profound life altering events back to back to back.  One allowed
me to spread my wings.  One showed me what it meant to be a man.  And the third gave me a look at the world that to this day
amuses, dumbfounds and amazes me.
The kids started showing up in 1986.  How they got there was never really explained to me.  Just one day, "poof" there she was.  Alexandra Jean...aka Da' Bubba.  She was too cute to send back so we kept her.  Billy showed up hungry in 1989 and still views
"snack time"  as a basic human right.
I missed Alex's birth by 30 minutes.  I was stuck in Chicago and, due to a late train, missed my early ride home.  But it was
said that it probably was a good thing cuz Denise don't do pain well.  lol  However she got her revenge 3 years later when Billy
showed up.  I had a new video camera so everything is on tape.  Watching the birth of my son was an experience I will never
forget... and never repeat.  lol  I was not meant to be a doctor.  This I realize.  Next time I'm going to go the more traditional
route and stay in the waiting room with the cigars.  lol  After viewing labor I came to the conclusion that you could not pay
me enough money to be a woman.  Nope.  Not gonna' happen.
The 90's went by in a flash.  I did the family thing and life slowed down a bit.  We bought a computer in the fall 98 and things
have not been the same since.  lol  It's a whole new world that needs to be explored and mastered.  So I guess I'll be here for awhile.
 lol
The new millennium came, the marriage went and life changed yet again.  Alex started high school in the fall of 2000 and will graduate in '04, Billy starts middle school in the fall of 2001 and I still have the mind of a 20 year old (12 at times..lol).
My hobbies include mountain biking, camping, snowmobiling (my brothers of course...lol), dirt biking from time to time
(my brothers again), music (napster is God), photography , computers and lately it seems writing.  lol  Oh, and can't forget the
power tools and woodworking.  ARRRR!!!!!!!  ARRRRRRR!!!!!
I'm a huge Green Bay Packer fan (There's really no choice when living in Wisconsin) so on any givin' Sunday during football season,
 you'll know where I'll be.
Ok, that's enough.  This is starting to sound like a personal "Date Me" add.  lol
And what more can I say??  lol  Life still hasn't gotten weird enough for me.
