The Car Brakes

Ok.  I'll tell the "car brakes" story.  I'm not too sure this is a good idea though.  Ya see Kim's still kinda' mad about it.  lol  She
might insist I reimburse her.  Even after 25 years.  Lol
Being the normal 13-14 year old male that I was I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel of a car.  I dreamed of the day I could drive.
Well I decided I couldn't wait any longer.  Lol  I would take one of the cars for a short spin when I was home alone.  It usually ended
up being Kim's car, a 1969 Ford LTD with a 390ci under the hood.  Lol  The thing was a boat but a powerful boat.  Lol  I'd take it for
a drive around the neighborhood, squealing the tires at every stop.   My buddy Chip was into cars and told me about "Neutral Drops" (putting the car in neutral, flooring the accelerator and throwing…dropping it into drive) and "Power Breaker's" ( placing one foot
on the brake and the other on the gas and flooring the car.  This would cause the rear wheels to spin while the front wheels, with the
brakes on, kept the car from moving.).  Ya could sit there and smoke them tires all night long.  Lol  Well a week goes by since my last
joy ride in Kim's car when she tells my dad there's something wrong with the car.  He takes it in and finds that the rear brakes are fried.
That can't be he says.  "I just had them installed 2 months ago."  Well…   hehehe…
He comes home and enters the kitchen, where both Kim and myself are, with the fried brakes in his hand and that scowl on his face
we know all too well.  Kim has no idea what them things in his hand are but I know instantly.  Ummmmmmm……  I quietly eat my
bowl of cereal while Kim receives the yelling of the year.  Hehehe…  "And", my dad tells her, "Seeing how you have a job, you are going
to pay me back for these brakes.  $268.00."  Opps……  She was not happy.
I didn't reveal the truth for 13 years.  Lol  I thought it would all be forgotten by then.  One X-mass were sitting around telling these
stories when I blurt out the brake story.  OOOoooo…..Kim was not happy.  Lol  She told me I was going to pay for them brakes.
Kept reminding me of it all night and for some time after as well.  But I feel were even.  Yep.  And here's why.  As a child the three of
us walked to school for about 2 years.  Johnny was too little for school yet so it was just Kim, Nancy and me.  Well I had to walk most
of the way with my big sister Kim holding me by the short hairs of my neck.  You know the ones.  The small, fine hairs on the back of
your head, down by your neck.  Uh huh.  I couldn't get away because she'd just pull them harder.  So were even.  :P
